Our Story
At Cadence Clay Works we believe in beautiful handmade objects destined for daily use. Whether it’s your morning coffee, a dinner table set for good friends and family, or simply a small vase for a single flower the connection between the artist and user can bring a sense of peace and joy in a world that often seems too rushed, and mass produced.
Cadence Clay Works is the result of a lifelong passion for clay by the artist Ian Bowen. Ian received a BFA from the Oregon College of Arts and Crafts, an institution dedicated to the American arts and crafts movement from the turn of the 20th century. After spending 16 years working in early childhood education and slowly building out the studio Ian now works in clay full time.
When not sitting at his potter’s wheel Ian can generally be found traipsing about on two wheels looking for adventures by bike.
